KQA plays an important role in the education and training sector by ensuring that all education or training providers complied with quality standards and provide quality qualifications that will be recognized nationally and abroad, enabled learners to succeed in their future endeavours, become productive citizens and contribute remarkably to the development of Kiribati.

KQA Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with EQAP in the implementation and co-ordination of the PQF in Kiribati;

• Supports all training providers in their accreditation applications and registrations under the PQF;

• Establish policies, criteria, accreditation, reviewing, register and listing of providers for School Sectors, Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET);

• Work with overseas government agencies, overseas certifying and validating bodies and other relevant international organizations to achieve international recognition for Kiribati qualifications, and where appropriate to recognize overseas qualifications in Kiribati;

• Monitoring and sustaining quality assurance standards, processes and practices within Providers of School Sectors and PCET.
